Minutes of February 19, 2006 Meeting

1. Treasurer’s Report: Tessie Cecil handed out "Account Transactions" Report from 2003 to the present & Income vs. Spending Report. Balance $2,151.64. An outstanding check is due to the city for the Trolley use is $300. The insurance is the only money paid to the city. Liability Insurance is $534.00 year. The building itself is not insured.
2. Committee Reports: Scott Stoke absent
3. Old Business:
- a. Larue County contacts: Jeff Shelton hasn’t heard back from anyone. Stanley Kelly is still due to come by to look at the building after March 1.
- b. Site inspection of Fort Allen: Jeff spoke with Ann Bader, they are still working in W. Virginia, so there will be a delay in the site inspection.
- c. Site Cleaning at the House: Buck to move the dirt away from the west & north sides of the house.
- d. Lincoln Bicentennial meeting: there was much discussion.
- e. Future Events: Lincoln Days, Horn Days, State Fair, etc.: Discussed brochure, Stephen Howard works at R Cubed Printing. He will assist with the layout & setup.
- f. Temporary Building Repairs: It was noted that the metal roof needs to be bent back down at the corners and that the chimneys near covering. We need to replace clapboards - at least temporarily. (Donnie to check on a house being torn down in Howardstown), We also need to cover/ replace windows, then find inexpensive paint. We need to check with Larue County for donation of the use of a "bucket" truck, donation of paint, use of jail inmates from Larue County. Discussed needing a gate for security.
- Jeri made a motion for Jeff Shelton to purchase materials for a gate, up to $250. Seconded by Jeff Shelton. Passed
4. New Business:
- a. Kentucky Civil War Trails: It was brought up that we need to ask Larue County and the KRM about donating funds for the Kentucky Civil War Trails event. Also talk to other local businesses such as the bank and maybe the Cream Station
- b. T –shirts: discussion on putting a picture of the t-shirt on the membership form. Tessie noted that we had originally bought 47 - 10 with collar for a total of $390.08 including 6 free coffee mugs.
- c. Election of the Board: Jeri made a motion nominating Charles for President, Jeri as VP, Tessie as treasurer, Cindy Lemons as Secretary. 2nd by Charlie Shelton. Passed. Jeri moved to postpone voting for Board Members at Large until the next meeting, Seconded by Charlie Shelton. Passed.
